House of bricks

Hello and welcome back. I have been put to task by recapping the house of bricks. This was a very fun and existing to write about. Do you love to play with Lego? Have fun reading

My favourite Lego activity was Tower building and the car building because  there were two different tasks to complete. It was nice to work with a friend and work with new people. I loved how we had to work together as a team because it made the task even easier.

My least favourite Lego activity was base the bricks because when I was making a creation that was meant to be a pool it turned into something completely different.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was car race because we had to keep going back to keep retesting that it would not break and that it would go fast.

The most challenging activity was the tour Building because there was only a certain amount of  time and there where only bricks left for us because the other team at our spot had taken the tall tour tops. So it made it very hard to get it tall.

I  enjoy working collaboratively with others because it makes the task a lot easier and it was nice to meet new people.

Ban Stereotyping

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This week for writing we have been learning why stereotyping should be band. Stereotypical can happen with animals and people. Some people put pink on girl dogs and blue on boy dogs. This is OK but you should not do Stereotyping. Stereotyping can be with genders where they might say that girls have to were dress and boys have to were shorts and a T-shirt. This is bad and that is why we have been learning about this. I have made a google drawing on this. Do you agree that we should ban stereotyping?

Kia ora

And welcome back to my blog. Over the lock down I have been working on doing online writing. For online writing we were working on persuasive texts. For my writing I have wrote about Why we should grow our own vegetables. Have you ever done pervasive writing? I hope you enjoy reading!

Why we should grow our own vegetables

Naturally I feel that it would be a lot more healthy if we grow our own vegetables

at home. Here are four reasons why First of all gardening is a good way to get out side and be active with your family. If you spend a little bit of money on seeds

and the supplies that you need for growing your own vegetables then it would be

a lot more cheaper to grow your own vegetables then to by it at the supermarket.

Another reason is that the supermarkets sometimes give you a small carton with seeds in them so that you can grow your own vegetables. When you grow your

own vegetables your diet will be a lot more healthier because you will be getting

a lot of vitamins into you. The vitamins that you get are called Vitamin D also known as sunshine vitamin. Vitamin D protects you from some diseases and it is also healthy for your teeth and bones.

So there is your answer. Growing your own vegetables is a lot more better then buying your vegetables. Thank you for listening

Unique Umbrella writing

Kia ora

We are back with some more writing for term 3. This term for writing we are writing a story about Umbrella.

Umbrella is a short clip on YouTube. Have you ever seen the clip umbrella?

Thanks for reading!

Here is the clip of the story Umbrella

Umbrella

Late one drizzly night, the gate way to Miss Elem’s home for children opened wide. The girl with the neon umbrella, anxiously entered the orphanage before finding a home for her umbrella. Not wanting to be seen. Boris quickly slipped his head around the corner  so that he was hidden from view. Standing out of the happiness the girl investigated the joyful scene as the children dug into the hidden treasures.  The girl smiled as she watched the little boy gallop around like the thoroughbred racing horses. Her smile slid off her face in seconds when she sore the umbrella stand all she sore was damp wet puddles. Her beloved umbrella had soaked into thin air

Trip Recount

Kia ora

Welcome back to my blog. In Term 2 we got told to make a recount of our trip to town.

I loved going to town and learning more about the history behind it. Have you ever been into town?

I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

On the 25th of May the Tumu hub headed down to town. We were going to find more about NZ Māori culture and

the story behind town. There were four rotations the first rotation of the day was the mats and eels we

walked around town looking at some mats that had been weaved out of concrete and put into the ground.

The mats where also designed that if a earthquake was ever to happen again they could get them out of

the ground and move them some where else with out damaging them.

After the mats we walked down to the eels. Six at a time went down. The first group went. After sometime

it was my tern As I walked down the step I could smell the smell of fresh cat food that we were going to

feed the eels with. Because they had sharp teeth we all got handed a spoon to feed them with. I bent down

to give the cat food to them. They had long silky looks and cute green eyes. The biggest one looked at me

and took the food. I got a second helping of cat food and gave it to the eels once more again.

After the mats and the eels we hoped on the waka. There were lots of ducks and swans on the Avon river.

He ha He ha we had started our chant as we sawed across the water. It was starting to make my arms tired but I

stayed on track.

After the waka we heeded down to Victoria Square for our third rotation. There was a pou at the entrance

of Victoria Square. Crunch crunch we walked across the park standing and  looking about. We were told

to find some facts around the park. So off I headed with Jules. We found out that Victoria died on 2th of January. We had to draw a sketch of the pou to help us with our learning when we returned back to

school. We had lots of fun in the Victoria Square and now it was time to head back to Margaret mahy for

our last rotation.

We were Now at our last rotation the teacher told us about the words on the concrete blocks. They were

engraved into the concrete. We found out that the words were a chant. We followed  the chant down the

concrete path. Then we were handed all a piece of paper to copy a engraved artwork. I used lots of

colours to create an artwork piece. Sadly it was time to hop onto the bus and head back to school,

I loved my time here and will miss it. It was so much fun to learn about our Tūrangawaewae and

the stories behind it all.

My favourite part of the trip was the waka because I have never had the opportunity to go in one.

I also love the waka because it helped me to work together as a team and I loved having races with the

other waka

Something I learnt was that the eels from the avon river go all the way up to tona to have there babies ( wow).

I also learnt that the bigger eels are the females and the smaller ones are the males. My last fact I learnt was

that eels do not now there age until they are ten years old so they can not have there babies until they are ten

years old.

The thing I found the most interesting was how we learnt about all the stories behind the mats and how

much the people had put into them.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because I have now found so much about our town trip that

I will be able to find it so much easier to do my task
